Hi, I’m

Carlos E. Torres

Building clinical AI at Oracle Health and researching how AI should interact with people.

I'm a Brazilian-American software engineer based in Florida. I lead technical design and delivery of the Clinical AI Agent at Oracle Health, a multimodal assistant that moves between voice, text, and touch without losing context. Alongside that, I research LLMs, NLP, and Human-Centered AI as a Ph.D. student at UCCS.

Two decades of shipping software across three countries, from a BBS I ran as a kid in Brazil, to helping improving billing systems in Portugal, to opening my own company, to building mobile, AI powered, systems used by healthcare providers in hospitals. I've been a founder, a consultant, and an engineer inside multinationals, which tends to make me useful in the space between what a business wants and what a system can actually do.

Open KDBX database files, quickly click to copy passwords, add new entry, edit, delete, create new database files, sort, group, and search entries.

TabNews CLI
Go & CLI

TabNews CLI

TabNews (tabnews.com.br) CLI is a terminal based application (TUI) made with Go for the Brazilian news website TabNews. It uses two Go libraries: gocui (the best TUI libraries I've even seen, supports even mouse interaction) and go-term-markdown (markdown rendering).
